A man who died after he was stung by wasps in County Cork this week will be laid to rest on Friday.
Michael Sheehan, aged in his 50s, died at his home in Macroom, County Cork on Tuesday.
It is understood he inadvertently disturbed a wasps' nest while cutting hedges and was stung multiple times.
He returned home where he complained of feeling unwell and he collapsed a short time later.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital.
Mr Sheehan will repose in Fitz-Gerald's Funeral Home in Macroom this evening and his funeral mass will take place on Friday at 1.30PM in St. Colman’s Church.
A private cremation will follow in Ringaskiddy.
Mr Sheehan is survived by his wife Carmel, his children Conor, Katie and Áine, his mother Norma and sister Margaret.
