Organisers of Electric Picnic say the man who died at the festival this morning had a previous heart condition.

The 20 year old man was found collapsed an unconscious at one of the campsites for Electric Picnic in the early hours of this morning.

Paramedics were called to his assistance and he was transferred to Portlaoise General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The festival has expressed its sympathies to the man's family and a full investigation is underway.

A post mortem will be carried out to determine the exact cause of the young man's death.
