Gardaí arrested a man after he was allegedly found in possession of a firearm on a train this evening.
The 3.05pm service from Sligo to Dublin was stopped at Connolly Station after reports of anti-social behaviour onboard.
Several Garda Armed Response Units were deployed and a man in his 50s was arrested.
Officers seized a suspected firearm and evacuated Connolly Station in order to carry out a security sweep of both the train and the station.
The area has now been declared safe but trains to and from Connolly are experiencing delays this evening.
The man remains detained at a Garda Station in Dublin.
