Gardaí are searching for a man they believe hijacked a car and robbed a post office at knifepoint this afternoon.
Investigators said a man, armed with what is believed to have been a knife approached a car in Clonoulty, west Tipperary just after 3:10pm.
After threatening the driver the man stole the red Volkswagen Passat and drove away.
Around 20 minutes later, an armed robbery was reported at a post office in Rossmore.
Investigators said a man threatened staff with what is believed to have been a knife and made off with a small sum of money.
They believe he made his escape in the stolen Volkswagen.
No one was injured in either incident.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw a Red Volkswagen Passat with the partial registration 11D to contact them immediately.
Members of the public are warned not to approach the car.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
