A manhunt is underway in Idaho in the US, with police saying they're coming close to apprehending fugitive James di Maggio.

DiMaggio is suspected of killing Christina Anderson, 44, at his California home and then abducting her daughter Hannah, aged 16.

On Sunday last, police discovered the burned remains of Christina Anderson, 44, in a log cabin-style home about 60 miles east of San Diego.

The body of Anderson's young son Ethan, was positively identified last night.
