A man has been found dead at a house in Co. Laois.
The discovery was made last night and the scene has been preserved for forensic tests.
The body was found at a house in Ballickmoyler at around 8pm last night.
Gardaí say the man was 48-years-old and his remains were found in the front room of the property.
Following the discovery the house was sealed off for a forensic examination.
A member of the State Pathologists Office is due to visit the scene this morning.
A post mortem will be carried out on the man’s remains to determine his cause of death.
This will decide the course of the Garda inquiry.
