Gardaí in Dublin are asking for the help of the public in identifying the body of a man found on a beach in the city on Wednesday.

The remains of the man were recovered from the sea by the Coast Guard off Dollymount Beach at around 1pm.

He is thought to be aged between 20 and 30 years old.

The man is described as being 6-foot-1 in height, of average build, with short dark hair, hazel eyes, short bushy eyebrows and an overall well-groomed appearance.

Anyone who may have information on the dead man is asked to contact the gardaí at Clontarf station or any other garda station.
