Gardai in Co. Clare are appealing to anyone who may have seen a damaged car or a van in the Ennis area to contact them. They are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on the Limerick to Ennis Road last night that claimed the life of a man in his 20s
His body was found at Tobarteascáin just after 10pm.
The remains have now been moved from the scene and a post mortem will take place later. The man has not yet been identified and Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Superintendent Derek Smart of Ennis Garda Station is leading the investigation and has been speaking to Clare FM.
