A man’s body has been found in Midleton, Cork. 

At 4pm this afternoon, Gardaí were called out to a property in Broomfield West where they found an elderly man, who was unresponsive. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Gardaí have described his death as “unexplained” and a post-mortem examination will be carried out. 

A woman also received medical treatment at the scene and was later taken to Cork University Hospital a short time later.
