The body of a man has been recovered from the River Shannon in County Clare.

The remains were located two miles south of Killaloe this afternoon. It is part of an on-going search involving the Killaloe Coastguard, local search and rescue teams and garda divers.

The discovery comes three weeks after a Limerick man in his late 40s went missing in the area - although the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.
