The body of a man aged in his 60s has been recovered from the sea off the west Cork coast.

The discovery was made in Roaring Water Bay this afternoon.

His death is not being treated as suspicious but gardaí are investigating the circumstances.

It is believed he may have suffered a heart attack while swimming and drowned as a result.
