The body of a man has been taken from the River Suir in Waterford City.

Emergency services recovered the man, believed to be in his 30s, below the Tower Hotel at around 8.45 this morning.

His remains have been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital, where a post mortem examination will take place.

Gardai are investigating the incident.
