Dublin City Councillor and former Lord Mayor, Andrew Montague has tweeted a photo of the proposed location of future Dublinbikes stations.
The Dublinbikes initiative was started in 2009, following a system that was already in existence in many European cities.
A handy way of getting around the city, bikes can currently be hired at 44 locations, with a grand total of 550 bikes available for hire.
Under the proposed expansion plan, the number of Dublinbikes in the city will more than double. There will be 950 new bikes at 58 new hire points.
The area around Dublin Docklands in the East and Heuston Station in the west of the city will see the bulk of the new stations.
The orange dots below denote existing stations around Dublin, while the green ones are the locations of the proposed new stations.
