Anti-war protester Margaretta D'Arcy is to be released from prison on Saturday.

D'Arcy (79) was imprisoned for three months on January 15th over her refusal to sign a bond to stay out of unauthorised areas of Shannon Airport.

She was moved to Mountjoy Prison last month after spending a month in Limerick Prison.

In a statement this afternoon, her supporters say she has been informed by the Governor of Mountjoy Prison that she is to be released this Saturday morning.

She will hold a press conference in Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
