A man (41) has appeared in court charged with the murder of Margot Seery in Dublin 21 years ago.
Howard Kelly - with an address at Osprey Apartments, Naas in Co Kildare - was arrested this morning.
Ms Seery died at her Dublin home in Kenilworth Square on October 8th, 1994.
An inquest found she died of asphyxiation from choking.
However her body was exhumed from Rathkeale Cemetery on September 16th last year for a post mortem.
A man was subsequently arrested, but he was released without charge and a file was prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
This morning just after 9am, Mr Kelly was arrested in Kimmage in Dublin and charged with her murder.
Detective garda Gabriel Duffy told Dublin District Court that he made no reply to the charge.
Mr Kelly has been remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison until his next court appearance on Wednesday.
Judge Michael Walsh heard he has mental health difficulties, and has directed he receive appropriate treatment while in prison.
