Two people are reported to have died and nearly a thousand have been arrested as anti-government protests spread across Turkey.
The country is bracing itself for a third day of nationwide protests as clashes between police and demonstrators continued overnight.
The international community has expressed concern about an excessive use of force by police - with fresh rioting in Istanbul, Izmir and the capital Ankara overnight.
Meanwhile, solidarity rallies have taken place in cities across the world including New York, London and Dublin.
The protests started over plans to build a shopping centre on a park in Istanbul.
