Parts of the north are on lockdown as the G8 summit of major world leaders gets underway on Monday.

Thousands of extra police have been drafted in and hundreds of armoured vehicles will be in operation to deal with any potential security threats at Lough Erne in Fermanagh.

Up to 10 thousand protesters are expected, as trade unions and campaigners against global hunger plan to target the summit on Monday and Tuesday.

Chief Superintendent Pauline Shields from the PSNI says it's a massive security operation.
