A woman in the United States has accused Conor McGregor of sexually assaulting her in a basketball arena.
The alleged incident took place in June 2023 during the NBA finals in Miami, Florida.
The woman, who has not been named in the lawsuit, is accusing the MMA fighter of assaulting her in a bathroom.
She reported the alleged incident two days later and is now seeking damages from both McGregor and the arena.
Lawyers for McGregor said there had been a “thorough investigation at the time” but that US officials had decided there was “no case to pursue”.
“Almost two years and at least three lawyers later the plaintiff has a new false story,” they told RTÉ.
“We are confident that this case too will be dismissed."
The lawyer for McGregor’s accuser said a civil case was the “only avenue” in which his client could obtain “justice” following the decision by prosecutors not to press charges.
