Suspected MDMA worth an estimated €200,000 has been seized in Wexford.
At around 12:10am this morning, uniform and plain clothes were carrying out a checkpoint in Clonard.
During the operation, a car turned away from the checkpoint and failed to stop for gardaí.
Shortly after, gardaí arrested a male driver in his 20s.
The man was taken to Wexford Garda Station.
A car was also searched, and a 'significant quantity' of MDMA was seized.
During a follow-up search at a property in Wexford, another 'substantial' amount of a drug believed to be MDMA was seized.
Gardaí in Wexford also searched another car and discovered another amount of the suspected drug.
The drugs seized are estimated to be worth €200,000.
Gardaí say their enquiries are ongoing and it is "anticipated that further arrests will be made".
