A man aged in his 90s is recovering after an aggravated burglary at his home in Co Meath last night.

A four-man gang entered his home at Danesrath, Balrath at around 8.30pm and made off with a sum of cash.

The suspects are described as being aged in their 20s and of stocky build. They were armed with spanners.

It is understood the elderly man was not physically injured during the incident.

Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses.
