Two men in their 20s have appeared in court in Dublin charged in connection with an armed robbery in Tallaght. Around €1 million in cheques and financial documents were stolen outside a bank on Main Street on Tuesday night.
Two men armed with a hammer and what looked like a firearm held up a man as he was making a lodgement at a night safe outside a bank on Main Street. It happened just before midnight on Tuesday.
Following a Garda search shortly afterwards two men were arrested and the bag was recovered along with all of its contents.
Wayne O'Connor of Smithbrook Drive in Tallaght and Sean Roddy of Drumcarragh Avenue, Jobstown in Tallght appeared in court today.
They have both been charged with the robbery and were granted bail under strict conditions. They are due to appear before Tallaght District Court again in September.
