Sad news today for Dublin's many commuters.
The Metro Herald has announced that this Friday will be the last ever edition of the paper.
Paul Crosbie, managing director of publisher Fortunegreen Ltd, said:
‘Metro Herald, and the people who have worked here, have been extremely resourceful and hard-working, breaking new ground in creative print advertising. I’m very proud of what we have achieved here over the last six years and feel privileged to have worked with such talented and creative people.’
Metro Herald was formed in 2010 after the merging of the Metro and Herald AM papers.
The closure comes with a loss of all 13 full-time jobs and positions for those who hand out the morning paper.
The final edition will feature some of the best bits from five years of putting transport-induced boredom at bay.
