Two people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Michael Foley.
The 61-year-old was found dead at his home in Macroom last Tuesday.
He was discovered by his care worker who went to check on him following concerns for his welfare.
Mr Foley, who was originally from Clonakilty, was found on the floor of the property with visible injuries to his head, neck and upper body.
Earlier today, a man and a woman - both aged in their 30s - were arrested in Cork city.
They are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a Garda station in Cork.

The investigation is ongoing.
