While they’ve become an ongoing problem for the justice system, Enoch Burke and his family have been extremely helpful to the Irish meme community, according to comedian Michael Fry.
To celebrate the end of a chaotic year in Ireland, Mr Fry wrote a song summarising all the mishaps, misadventures and mysterious holes that appeared on Dublin beaches.
Modelled on We Didn’t Start the Fire, Mr Fry said Enoch Burke was a particular inspiration for the song.

“The image of him standing outside the gate has been memed to the death,” he told The Pat Kenny Show.
“There was a stag-do that had the groom dressed up as him and made him wait outside the pub.
“He’s a muse all over the place, it’s great.”
The extended Burke family has also provided a lot of material for comedians like Mr Fry.
He said they were particularly helpful when they protested outside Mr Burke’s disciplinary hearing at the Mullingar Park Hotel and the chair of the meeting, John Rogers, was not present.
“They were all chanting outside and they didn’t rehearse at all,” he said. “None of it was in unison but they kept saying [Mr Roger’s name].
“They’ve been very helpful... his dad also used to drive [Enoch] to school every day, which has been used in memes.”
Phillip Schofield's vape
Another iconic moment for Mr Fry was the This Morning Presenter Phillip Schofield leaving the show after it emerged he had an affair with a younger male staff member.
Mr Fry said he “absolutely deserved to lose his job” and his interview with The Sun should be a cautionary tale for all.
“If you want to stop your kids vaping, I would just show them the footage of Phillip Schofield holding a Lost Mary,” he said.
“It doesn’t look cool at all.”
He said the dramatic nature of Mr Schofield and Holly Willoughby’s departure shows that they considered themselves “a part of people’s families and people’s home”.
“Well, they’re not actually,” he said.
“They were replaced pretty quickly by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond and people were fine with that.”
Michael Fry in the Abbey Theatre
In the new year, Mr Fry will be taking place in a “24-hour” play in the Abbey Theatre.
Taking place on January 14th, the writers will have 24 hours to write, direct and perform a play.
As one of the actors, Mr Fry will arrive with a costume, prop, and an idea for something he has never performed.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what will be made for me.”
Writers include Hannah Mamalis and Ultan Pringle, who Mr Fry promises are a talented bunch.
