So many people rely on it, a billion people use it and Microsoft are very proud of it, spending over a billion dollars making it happen. Apple, Facebook and Google have hogged the limelight for the last decade, Microsoft stalled… that is until now.

According to Vanity Fair the iphone brings in more revenue than what Microsoft brings in as a whole.  In 2000 Microsoft was worth 500 billion, now its worth half that and Apple is worth 500 billion.

Windows have been paying attention.  The new OS is softer, easy to use, heavily visual with icons and tiles.  Its all touch screen, like a dashboard for your life.  83% of people around the world use windows and in Ireland alone next year half a million Windows 8 operating systems will be sold.

Windows 8 brings all your social media together and will be fully Cloud driven.

With a one-click detachable keyboard and mouse, but they have taken an impressive step forward in hardware connectivity.

With it’s fresh, modern, clean interface it feels special, and very user friendly.  It’s where Apple have been for a decade.  But will it be a case of too little too late?

Don’t bet on it.
