Pop singer Nicki Minaj has engaged in a war of words with her Irish fans on Twitter.

It comes after the US performer was forced to cancel her planned gig in Dublin last night due to problems with her vocal cords.

Some angry Irish fans vented their frustration on Twitter last night, but in an expletive laden rant Minaj struck back and defended her decision not to mime instead.

Promoters have advised ticket-holders to contact point of purchase for a refund.
