Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation after a mini bus was stolen at Dublin Airport.
They are also been held on suspected false imprisonment of three passengers, who were onboard the bus.
The alarm was raised shortly before 1.00am on Wednesday.
It is understood two men boarded the bus and drove in the direction of the M1.
The passengers then got off the bus, unharmed, a short time later near Julianstown.
The mini bus continued to drive north on the M1 until it was located near Drogheda, and followed by Garda units, before crossing the border north of Dundalk.
The PSNI were then alerted and the mini bus was located again a short time later - having returned across the border in Co Monaghan.
It was then followed by Gardaí again, before it was abandoned after being crashed.
The two men fled on foot before getting into a parked car - which was intercepted by Gardaí with help of the Garda Air Support Unit near Castleblayney.
Two men, aged in their 30s, were arrested and are currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Carrickmacross Garda station.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
