The new Minister for the Irish Abroad is being asked to help immigrants in the US.

Jimmy Deenihan was appointed to the post in yesterday's Cabinet reshuffle.

Today Fianna Fáil's spokesperson for the Irish Overseas, Senator Mark Daly, says Minister Deenihan needs to prioritise Immigration Reform for the 50-thousand undocumented Irish in the States.

US lawmakers are under pressure at the moment to allow the Irish living there leave and re-enter the country.
