The Minister for Education is said to be considering naming and shaming schools that insist on hiring retired teachers.

Ruairi Quinn believes that urban schools are continuing to call in retired teachers despite many graduates out of work.

Figures in the Irish Independent shows almost 400 were employed at various periods between September and February of this year.
