The Health Minister says there is no justification for calls on him to resign or threats from the Opposition to put another motion of no confidence down in him in the Dáil.
James Reilly is under fire after it emerged he added the 2 primary care centres in his constituency to a priority list just hours before it was published.
The Health Minister is again insisting this was not stroke politics.
Freedom of Information documents released to The Irish Times show that 2 locations for primary care centre in the constituency of Deputy Reilly were only added to a list being announced by the government the evening before the announcement was made.
Fianna Fail leader Michael Martin says the position of Minister Reilly is now untenable.
Delay under Dail rules
Under Dail rules the new Fianna Fail motion of no confidence cannot be taken until March which is 6 months after the last motion of confidence in September.
Speaking in West Dublin this morning Doctor Reilly says he would not change anything about the selection of primary care centres.
"I've made it very clear I stand over what I did, and if I had it all to do again I would do it again" he said.
"There's very clearly a need for primary care centres in all of the locations mentioned" he added.
