The Arts and Culture Minister says he is issuing a directive, calling for the salaries of all CEOs receiving funding from the Arts Council to be published.
Jimmy Deenihan says transparency is "vital" when it comes to the use of public money.
In November 2013, the Council announced that it would undertake a strategic review of how it addresses its remit.
As part of that review, the public is invited to take an online survey to make a submission to the steering group.
The deadline for these submissions is April 22nd.
Minister Deenihan says the Arts Council is already undertaking a review of the remuneration of its directors and CEO, and it is a matter for the Council how it deals with its findings.
But he says all publicly-funded salaries should be scrutinised and groups supported by the Arts Council should comply.
