A group representing people with a disability has welcomed the government's decision to retain the mobility allowance and transport grants pending the setting up of a new scheme.
The payments had been due to cease this month after the Ombudsman ruled they were effectively illegal because they did not apply to those aged over 65.
The Cabinet today approved the continuation of the grants, while a working group prepares a report on a new scheme by October.
