When you think of parents embarrassing their children, you probably think of over-zealous fathers shouting at football referees or mothers telling humiliating stories when meeting a new girlfriend or boyfriend.

But the mother of political rivals Brad (Dem.) and Dallas (Rep.) Woodhouse takes the cake for calling them live on US TV show C-SPAN and berating both for their behaviour at Thanksgiving.

Neither look particularly enthused when they realise who it is on the other end of the line.

Tired of the rivalry between her two sons, she says she hopes they "get this out of their system today on your programme."
