Showers will still occur though, mainly in the west and northwest.

This afternoon, cloud will thicken in Munster and south Leinster and outbreaks of rain will develop in these areas this evening.

Moderate to fresh and gusty west to southwest winds, strong to near gale on some coasts at first today will gradually ease, becoming mostly light to moderate this afternoon.

Outbreaks of rain will gradually spread northwards over the rest of the country tonight, becoming patchy later in the night and breaking up into clear spells and showers towards morning.

Lows of 0 to 4 degrees.

Winds will be mainly light southwest or variable with patchy frost, mist and fog.
