A castaway cow and her calf have finally been rescued after spending more than two months marooned on an island in Breakey Lough in Co Meath.
The cow, called Rambling Rose, was pregnant when she disappeared from her owner, farmer Sean Kelleher.
He'd given up hope of ever seeing her again, when a neighbour spotted the cow and her calf on a tiny Island - just 15 metres wide.
The suckler cow had given birth on the island and had effectively eaten all of its vegetation in a bid to stay alive.
Meath River Rescue brought the suckler cow and calf to safety today - along with up to 100 volunteers and her owner says he's delighted to have them back on the mainland.
