The seizure consisted of 'L&M' brand cigarettes which originally came from the Ukraine. Revenue say an Irish resident non-national in his mid 30s was questioned about the seizure. It says that investigations are continuing.

This seizure is part of on-going operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal cigarettes in the shadow economy.

Revenue adds that if businesses or members of the public have any information regarding the smuggling or sale of illegal cigarettes, they can contact Revenue in confidence on 1800-295-295.
