Coalition talks are set to resume this morning, despite a number of deputies ruling themselves out of discussions.

Negotiations to form a new Government appear to have stalled as the Green Party, looks set to withdraw

Greens and Independents met with Fine Gael yesterday as Enda Kenny's party offered a possible deal on housing to potential coalition partners.

However, the talks broke up at around 9pm last night with no progress reported.

An Egyptian man who hijacked a plane is due to appear in court in Cyprus later today.

The hijacker forced the EgyptAir flight to land in Cyprus, but later surrendered to police following a six-hour stand-off.

All passengers and crew were released from the plane unharmed.

Cypriot Police have confirmed that the explosive belt the hijacker claimed to be wearing was fake.

President Michael D Higgins will open a revamped visitor centre at Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin today.

The €5 million facelift of the former court house is part of the 1916 Centenary commemorations.

The OPW have used the funding to adapt and refurbish the building.
