Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil are neck and neck when it comes to voters' support ahead of an this year's budget.
A Red C telephone poll of 1,000 adults for the Sunday Business Post last week shows an increase in support for Fianna Fáil.
This leaves just one point between the two parties on 28 and 29%.

Gardaí have foiled what appears to have been an attempted gangland hit in Dublin.
Three men aged in their 20s, 40s and 50s were arrested after officers stopped two cars in the Artane area and seized a gun.
They are now being held at Garda stations across Dublin.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has compared Britain to 'The Incredible Hulk' as it seeks to leave the EU.
He says the country will break out of its "manacles" like the green-skinned superhero if a deal cannot be done by Halloween.

The Communications Minister Richard Bruton is planning to make the internet safer, especially for children.
He wants to publish the the Heads of the Online Safety and Media Regulation Bill, which will put new obligations on social media companies.
They will have to operate Codes of Conduct, overseen by an independent Online Safety Commissioner to make the internet safer.

Sources close to this weekend's beef talks at in Dublin say there is 'an appetite for a deal'.
Talks on the crisis continued throughout Saturday night at the Department of Agriculture.
The various groups involved in the row are considering proposals.
