Boris Johnson says he will seek to trigger a snap general election later after his House of Commons defeat on Brexit last night.

MPs voted by a majority of 27 to take control of the parliamentary agenda today in an attempt to pass a bill to block a no deal scenario.

The British prime minister needs two-thirds of the Commons to support an election.

Mr Breslin's warning comes in a letter to HIQA, written in July and released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The storm is moving very slowly north west, and the US east coast remains on alert.
