Meals in pubs that reopen later this month should be 'substantial' and cost at least €9, according to new guidelines.
The draft guidelines, issued to Fáilte Ireland, also suggest that restaurants could reduce the two-metre social distancing rule to one metre under ‘certain circumstances.'
It is believed the circumstances include limiting the length of stay in a pub or a restaurant to 90 minutes, with customers would also need to pre-book a table.
Finalised guidelines for reopening are expected in the coming days.

Scientists have made the "biggest breakthrough yet" in finding a drug to treat coronavirus, according to the British prime minister.
Researchers at Oxford University have found a steroid called dexamethasone to be an effective treatment for severe cases of the virus.
The study found that it can reduce death rates by a third for those on ventilators, and by a fifth for patients needing oxygen.
Lead author, Professor Peter Horby said the fact it is cheap to produce is also encouraging.

The number of reports of child abuse dropped by 40 per cent in March compared to the same time last year, due to Covid-19.
The child and family agency Tusla got 698 mandated reports during the month, 475 fewer than in March 2019.
More than a third of them relate to physical abuse and a quarter are about sexual abuse.

A man's due in court this morning, charged in relation to a hit and run in Co. Donegal.
It's after a man in his early 20s was killed when he was hit by a car at Windyhall in Letterkenny in the early hours of Monday morning.
Gardaí later arrested a man in his 20s.
He's due before Letterkenny District Court this morning in connection with the case.
