Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour is likely to have been killed in a drone strike, according to a US official.

Multiple drones targeted Mansour and another man as they rode in a vehicle in a remote area of Pakistan, near the border with Afghanistan.

The strike is reported to have been authorised by President Barack Obama - the Pentagon says it is working to confirm Mansour died in the attack.

There has been a surge in the numbers of people coming out one year on since the Marriage Equality referendum.

The study by BeLonG To shows 39% of people say they spoke to someone for the first time about their sexuality because of the Yes vote.

A man and woman suffered minor injuries when shots were fire through the window of a house in the Cherry Orchard area of Ballyfermot.

Gardaí are calling for anyone with information on this latest incident to come forward.

It is believed the shooting is connected to the ongoing Kinahan-Hutch gangland feud.
