The FBI has successfully hacked into the iPhone of a dead gunman involved in last year's shooting at San Bernardino in California.

The US Justice Department has now withdrawn an order that would have forced Apple to unlock the phone - saying it has had help from a "third party".

Officials are investigating the shooting dead of 14 people in December by Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik.
