The mother of a boy who died in a quadbike accident last Friday has explained why she donated his organs.
Ultan Hayes (8) died after the accident near his home in Co. Clare.
His father - who is in his 40s - was hurt when the vehicle hit a stone wall. It happened on a local road in the townland of Ballinagoagh North, near Mountshannon and Whitegate.
Ultan was brought to Limerick Regional Hospital but subsequently died. His father was also hospitalised although his condition is not life-threatening.
It has since been revealed that four people have benefited from his donated organs.
Ultan's mother Orla told Newstalk Lunchtime why she made this decision.
