A motorcyclist is in serious condition following a crash with a car in county Longford.
It happened shortly after 4.30pm on the N4 at Aghadegnan in Longford Town.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Tallaght Hospital.
The driver did not require any medical treatment.
The road has been reopened following forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
They are particularly interested in anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the Aghadegnan area at the time.
This is the 59th crash to happen on Irish roads in 2024, compared to 45 by the same time period last year.
