A man in his 30s had died following a single motorcycle crash in Drumlish, Co Longford. 

It happened around 1.15am last night on the R198 near Kilnashee in Drumlish, Co Longford. 

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was fatally injured in the crash. 

The R198, Longford to Drumlish road, remains closed for forensic examination. Local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward. 

They are particularly interested in anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area at the time. 

It is the 118th death on Irish roads so far this year.
