A man has been killed after the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a crash with a van in Co Cork.
It happened shortly before 6pm at Ballinahina in White's Cross.
The motorcyclist, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed and is expected to remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning.
Local diversions are in place as Forensic Collision Investigators conduct an examination of the scene.
GardaĆ are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Ballinahina area between 5:45pm and 6:10pm are asked to make this footage available to GardaĆ.
It is the second fatality on Irish roads in less than 24 hours, after a woman in her 80s died following a single vehicle crash in County Donegal.
