A man has died after his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a car in Co Meath.

It happened at Mulpheddar in Clonard at around 2.00pm on Wednesday.

The motorcyclist, aged in his early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Navan Hospital, where a post mortem is due to take place.

Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene, and the road has been closed with local diversions in place.
