A man in his 40s has died following a road collision in County Wexford.

The crash occurred on the R742 near Johnstown, Castlebridge at approximately 9.20am this morning.

The man, who was travelling on a motorcycle, was involved in a collision with a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car's driver, a woman in her 60s, sustained injuries and was taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment.

It is understood her injuries are non-life-threatening.

The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.

Any witnesses to the collision, included those with dash-cam footage, have been asked to contact Gardaí.
