A male motorcyclist in his 50s has died following a two-vehicle collision that occured in Glenegeary, County Dublin, last night.

A car and motorcycle collided on Sallyglen Road at around 8.15pm.

The body of the motorcyclist has been removed from the scene to the motruary in St Columcille's Hospital where a post morten examination will take place in due course.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his 60s, was uninjured.

The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

A technical examination is being conducted at this time by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
