A man has died following a crash in Cloneish, Co Roscommon, yesterday evening. 

Gardaí said the crash between a motorcycle and a car happened on the R357 Ballinasloe to Shannonbridge Road at approximately 5.15pm yesterday. 

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to Ballinasloe Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

No other injuries were reported. 

The R357 Ballinasloe to Shannonbridge Road remains closed for examination and local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí in Roscommon are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has video footage to contact them. 

Another motorcyclist died yesterday in a crash in Kerry. A total of 148 people has died on Irish roads in 2023 so far.
